Omu Resort Report

Written by Mirna Al-Mahmoud, Year 9 (2018)

Our school’s trip this year to the fantastic Omu Resort here in Lagos was a great experience for all of us here at BusyBees and WestMills Schools. The main aim of this trip was to take our minds off the stress of exams and relax in an enjoyable atmosphere with our friends and family after a busy school term.

The first thing we did was to look around and decide which of the many fun rides to go on first. It was really tough to make up our minds because there was a lot of cool stuff to try! Some pupils headed over to the water parks for a swim while others got a chance to play mini golf, shoot hoops, ride horses and even learn fun facts about the animals in the zoo, from the fierce lion to boisterous baboons. Lastly, we got a chance to eat sumptuous meals together before going on a final round of fun activities.

The most memorable part of the trip was when we got to go on some of the breathtaking rides and laughed our lungs out. For example on the Pirate ship that moved high and fast and the spacecraft where we would rotate at all angles were among the most popular among students, teachers and even parents.

Overall, the trip was well organized and a fantastic success. It could have been better if we had more time to go on more rides and if there were better food. These would give us a better trip next year if it is to be repeated.
